The state of West Bengal is the most recent to see an increase in COVID-19 incidents. The state, which introduced a partial lockdown last week, has now imposed additional restrictions that will effectively thin crowds. Visitors are now prohibited from accessing state-run zoos and wildlife sanctuaries with immediate effect, according to the state government.
Visitors would not be permitted to access the forest department’s conservation areas, national parks, zoos, or tiger reserves. The entry of visitors to forest department-run zoos will be prohibited from May 1, according to a notification issued by the Additional Chief Secretary (Forest) on April 30. As a result, this limitation has already been in effect for a few days.
