GHMC Mayor, Deputy Mayor election today: All you need to know

Updated Feb 11, 2021 | 06:26 IST Buoyed by its performance in GHMC polls, the BJP has also decided to put up its candidates for both Mayor and Deputy Mayor posts.  TRS is likely to grab both the positions  Hyderabad: Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, which saw a high-octane electoral fight between ruling TRS and BJP in December last year, will be elected on Thursday.  In the election notification, the Telangana State Election Commission said that the election will be held at 12.30 pm on February 11 and an hour earlier all the 150 corporators would be administered the oath. State election commissioner C Partha Sarathi also said that if for any reason the elections are not held on February 11, it will be postponed to the next day.

The Telangana State Election Commission on Friday directed the election authority and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner to conduct the election on February 11 at 12.30 p.m. State Election Commissioner (SEC) C. Partha Sarathi has issued a notification for the election, directing the election authority and GHMC Commissioner to authorise one of the District Collectors having jurisdiction over any area comprising the GHMC to conduct the election to the offices of Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
