Barely four months after AbaThembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo and his estranged son, Prince Azenathi, smoked a peace pipe, the two are back at each other’s throats over Bumbane Great Place. The king on Wednesday again told DispatchLIVE (http://www.dispatchlive.co.za) that he would disown Azenathi and not allow him to live at the royal residence as long as Azenathi insisted on his mother, the king’s former wife, judge Buyiswa Majiki, staying with him.
The EFF made headlines recently when they gifted AbaThembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo with a Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe SUV, reportedly worth around R1.8-million.
The majority of the AbaThembu nation has defied King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo by voting for the ANC instead of the EFF, as he had instructed, in the municipal elections.
Eastern Cape kings have urged their subjects, particularly those in rural communities, to go out in numbers to cast their votes and only vote for parties which prioritise development in rural areas.
On Monday, South Africans will turn out at polling stations to elect candidates to lead them in the sixth democratic local elections in more than 250 municipalities.
