In the rush for personal protective equipment (PPE) last year, some provincial governments were supplied with material that was not compliant with requirements.
Some of the companies got paid regardless, while others are still agitating to be paid. Now at least 30 companies which supplied non-complaint PPE have been served with summons to appear before the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) Special Tribunal as the state tries to claw back some of the money.
