On May 24, news outlets reported that the number of tweets related to the group BTS and their new English-language single Butter has exceeded 300 million around the world. This figure is an aggregate amount for about a month from April 24 to May 23, including the teasing period for the release of Butter, which started on May 10.
After BTS Butter was dropped on May 21 at 1 p.m. KST, the number of related tweets reached 31 million in only a day. On that day, the time when BTS and Butter were the most-tweeted was from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., recording five million tweets in just an hour.
