Singapore Suspends Reciprocal Green Lane Arrangements with Germany, Malaysia, South Korea 02 February 2021 Due to the resurgence of COVID-19 cases worldwide, the Government of Singapore will be suspending the Reciprocal Green Lane arrangements with Germany, Malaysia, and the Republic of Korea. Earlier, Indonesia and Japan were also suspended. The suspension is announced for a period of three months beginning from Monday, 1 February 2021, 0001hrs. The Government of Singapore will review the Reciprocal Green Lane arrangements at the end of the suspension period.  Travellers who have already been approved to enter Singapore under these Reciprocal Green Lanes can continue to do so.  The Reciprocal Green Lane (RGL) facilitates short-term essential business and official travel between Singapore and Brunei Darussalam, Mainland China - applies only to travellers from Chongqing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Tianjin, Zhejiang

Photo by Reuters. Japan has suspended a program that allowed business visits by people from certain economies, including Vietnam, as it tightened border restrictions over renewed coronavirus fears. Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga on Wednesday announced the clampdown on entry by businesspeople from Vietnam, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia. A lot has changed. Nearly every country in the world has been touched by the virus, there are travel restrictions at most borders and, for the imminent future, we’re all staying pretty close to home. But because countries in Asia like China, Japan, and South Korea were impacted early on, they’ve also been earlier to peak, earlier to flatten their curves, and, generally, earlier to reopen. (Some places, including Singapore and Taiwan, took enough preventative measures to avoid a full lockdown altogether.)
