Man arrested after substantial amount of drugs found in raid

A 30-year-old has been arrested after a substantial amount of drugs were found during a raid this morning (March 8). Officers from Burnley Taskforce, Tac Ops and Team 4 raided a property in Burnley Wood where they located a substantial amount of drugs. Officers arrested a 30 year old male who they say will be interviewed in due course. Tributes to much-loved Burnley darts player

A HORSE-drawn carriage will travel through Burnley Wood on Saturday morning for the funeral of a local darts ‘celebrity’. Dorothy Sullivan (nee Taylor), 84, was made an honorary member of the Lancashire Darts Association in 1989 and also picked up the prestigious Silver Arrow award . She regularly featured in the Lancashire Telegraph for travelling across the county with the Lancashire League town team between 1980 and 1990. Her son Mark has paid tribute to ‘Dot’ who leaves seven children Yvonne, David, Mark, Gail, Gary, Tracy and Donna. New bus brand comes to Rossendale

Rossendale Rovers bus A bright new bus brand is to bring smarter travel to Rossendale in the New Year, thanks to a partnership between Rosso and Lancashire County Council. Rossendale Rovers is the new name for Rosso’s local buses in and around Rawtenstall, Bacup and beyond, with a new network delivering many improvements for the area from Monday 4 January 2021. Newer easy-access buses will be introduced on services 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13 as part of the new Rossendale Rovers network, with customer-friendly features on-board including audio-visual next stop announcements. The new Rossendale Rovers network will restore previously lost links between communities while also providing more buses, more often to boost the region’s bus services for residents including key workers and students while attracting new customers to choose the bus for local journeys.
