She regularly featured in the Lancashire Telegraph for travelling across the county with the Lancashire League town team between 1980 and 1990. Her son Mark has paid tribute to ‘Dot’ who leaves seven children Yvonne, David, Mark, Gail, Gary, Tracy and Donna.
