Hornets Venom GT finished off their first in-season tournament title by sweeping both semifinal series and the finals of The Turn in the NBA 2K League on Saturday.
The Hornets began their finals series against Blazer5 Gaming with a 76-65 win, thanks to a 21-11 burst in the fourth quarter. They then took the opposite approach in the clincher, going up 19-9 in the first quarter en route to a 67-59 victory.
Craig rigby Burnett Jr. finished the first game with 31 points and nine assists, including going 11 of 18 from the field and 8 of 12 from 3-point range. Peter PeteBeBallin Malin collected 24 points and 13 rebounds, and Justin Sherm Sherman added 12 points and 11 assists for the Hornets.

Top seed Wizards District Gaming and No. 3 Hornets Venom GT rolled to sweeps in the NBA 2K League s The Turn Tournament on Friday night.
The $260,000 event, the second in-season tournament of the year, runs through Saturday. All matches are best-of-three, single elimination. The champion will receive $117,000, and the runner-up will earn $52,000.
In their first game, Wizards District Gaming jumped to a 20-5 lead after the first quarter and defeated Pistons GT 66-56, and in the rematch, they prevailed 70-61 to advance to the tournament semifinals.
John JBM Mascone led four players who scored in double digits for Wizards District Gaming, finishing with 20 points and nine assists, and Ryan Dayfri Conger added nine points, 13 rebounds and nine assists. In the rematch, JBM poured in 31 points with 12 assists, and Dayfri finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. The Kentucky State Police Facebook page got a new cover photo Tuesday, and it didn t exactly win over everyone on social media.
The cover shot featured a helicopter with two blocks of text on either side: OUR COLOR IS GRAY and OUR GENDER IS TROOPER.
Beneath the text were 11 troopers and Kentucky State Police personnel (as well as a K-9) standing in front of several KSP vehicles, with at least one woman and two Black members of the agency appearing to be in the photo, which includes no caption.
By late Wednesday morning, the cover photo had been changed back to a previous 2017 photo of three troopers.
