first of all, i want to thank centre college for hosting us this evening. oh, boy, here we go. four years ago president obama made a promise. that he would bring down unemployment below 6%. oh, this guy. i mean i m sorry, martha. but with all due respect, this is a bunch of malarky. it s malarky. a bunch of malarky? yeah. what does that mean? it s irish. no, no, no. irish is i come over there and smack that dumb look off your face. you knew in the middle of the debate, willie geist, you knew that sudeikis was salivating. jim downing didn t even have to write anything. just replay the debate. it s unbelievable. let s take a look at the morning papers. we ll start with the wall street journal.
overwhelmingly all of the polls have shown that biden basically whipped his butt. eric: you know what the wall street journal is calling it, the bully versus the wonk. i don t know if that s complimentary on either side. the polls are showing something completely different. cbs, cnn, all the polls are showing that, in fact, they believe that ryan won. so i don t know where jehmu is getting her polls from. maybe from the democratic national committee. i want to show something that s on facebook. eric: this is becoming a fundraising tool for both sides. look at this. this is a take off on kanye west in 2009 when he interrupted taylor swift. this is from the national republican congressional committee. as you can see, it says, you know, let me interrupt you, let me finish. no, i m not, so the republicans are using that to try to raise money against joe biden. but the democrats are supporting him. look at this. they re saying, way to go, joe. and they re now that s a bunch of mal
away at the top of the debate, what paul ryan says he believes and how he has behaved when he s had choices to make about these things that he says he has these beliefs about. this was the beginning of last night s debate on the topic of libya. when we look weak our adversaries are much more willing to test us, more brazen in attacks with all due respect, that s a bunch of malarky. why is that so? not a single thing he said is accurate. be specific. i will be very specific. number one, this lecture on embassy security. the congressman here cut embassy security in his budget by $300 million below what we asked for. that is true. paul ryan s house republican caucus where he is the budget guy proposed slashing hundreds of millions of dollars in funding for embassy security last year. paul ryan is saying this embassy security has been underresourced. paul ryan proposes cutting hundreds of millions of dollars from embassy security.
we witnessed a schooling on the issues by vice president joe biden last night. it really was the shot in the arm the democrats and the progressives were hoping for. after watching mitt romney get away with lie after lie last week, the vice president wasn t putting up with it from a guy who s number two on the republican ticket. when we equivocate on our values, when we show that we re cutting our own defense, it makes us more weak. it projects weakness. when we look weak, our adversaries are much more willing to attack us, more brazen in their atax. with all due respect, that s a bunch of malarky. why is that say? not a single thing he said is accurate. biden never took his foot off the gas. in one brief sentence, the vice president summed up the empty rhetoric of the romney campaign. stop talking about how you care about people. show me something. show me a policy. show me a policy where you take responsibility. many obama supporters were disappointed the president didn
home it probably came across a little testy. yeah, no. nice try. i mean, maybe mitt romney was testy, at the presidential debate, and maybe joe biden did laugh in paul ryan s face all night at the vice presidential debate. but that is in part because these guys, mitt romney and joe biden, were pumped and they were pumped because they were obviously winning their debates. and complaining about that does not change that. but the other person who was pumped last night and whose performance was both winning and, therefore, grating to the side who came out the worst last night, was the moderator martha raddatz. she gave both candidates almost exactly equal time. but martha raddatz who i officially would now support for president, herself, martha raddatz kept it moving and stopped these guys from diving down talking points rabbit holes. with all due respect, that s a bunch of malarky. and why is that so? because not a single thing he said is accurate. first of all be specific.
