continue the roll call. go ahead. darling. you there, blocking the television, take your seat. that s what it has been like in wisconsin this year ever since governor scott walker proposed his union stripping bill threatening that he would call out the national guard if he had to. the actions igniting loud protests for weeks and weeks. the great sleepover in the rotunda, school kids and farnlers on tractors marching across the state. back then the governor justified taking away union rights saying it wasn t a rights issue. saying it was a money issue. wisconsin was broke, busted, swimming in red ink. the union stripping thing was passed as something called the budget repair bill. part of something called the budget repair bill. the budget had a shortfall of $137 million. the republicans said the first part of repairing that was to take away union rights.

the appointed person they put in there. all right. to wisconsin right now i understand that luther olson a republican is now going to be challenged in a recall because they delivered far more signatures than they needed for the recall. where does that stand right now? it s a pretty incredible thing, ed. luther olsen represents the district where the republican party was founded in rip on, wisconsin and tonight activists rallied there the birth place of the republican party to announce they had gathered well over 20,000 signatures on petitions to recall senator olsen. they re recalling him because he voted for governor walker s anti-labor and consolidation of government agenda with the budget repair bill and they will tomorrow file far more than enough signatures. this is a a big deal because olsen s is a rural district and this is one of the places where remember he was re-elected in the last election without opposition. now he has tens of thousands of people calling for his recall.
