Meteorologist glenn hurricane schwartz. Glenn, is georgia and South Carolina in its track now . Yes, and the problem is the geography. The track of the storm was just off the florida east coast. Now that its turning north, look whats in its way. The southeast coast of the united states, South Carolina, north carolina, right there. Its going to make a sharp right turn to prevent it from making landfall. In the meantime weve got 425 miles worth of rain, from the Southern Side of the storm to the northern side. That is a huge storm. The worst part is right there in what we call the eyewall, the northern eyewall. The heaviest rain, the gustiest winds. Fortunately that has stayed offshore for the entire time. But its only 40 miles, the eye only 40 miles off the coast of jacksonville. Theyve already had some record storm surge flooding in parts of the jacksonville area, despite it being offshore, and not being around the strong side.
