David Phillips, 49, of Bryn Eglwys, Rhos on Sea, admitted threatening someone with a bladed item and criminal damage to a woman’s mobile phone. Judge David Hale today said at Mold crown court that it was an unpleasant offence. He told Phillips: “This night you were out of control but you took a knife out with you for no good reason.” The judge said the knife was wielded in a frightening manner and he didn’t suspend the sentence. “I’m not suspending it because it’s too serious and you need time to come to terms with your alcohol problems and the help you will get in prison,” Judge Hale declared.
