Right now, Phoenix Police are searching for driver who hit and killed a driver in a wheelchair who hit and killed a woman in a wheelchair early this morning. Jill has the latest on the victim and who officers are looking for. Reporter a sad situation. We are down here at 48th st. At mcdowell where a woman in a wheelchair was hit by a truck, and the driver of that truck just took off from the scene. Officers right now say that they are still working to try to track that person down. Phoenix police say it is not clear what this woman in the wheelchair was doing outside at this hour. Possibly she lived in the area. There are lots of apartment complexes right along 48 street. Also, if you are not familiar with this part of town, there are a few streetlights that are dimly lit at that hour. Officers say that they are is a situation where the driver did not see the woman until it was too late, o
Reporter we just got an update from tempe police. They tell us the 2yearold twins, a boy and girl, are being treated here and in very serious conditions condition and it sounds like progress because firefighters tell us when they got here they were still doing c pr on the twins, not breathing on their own at that point. It happened sometime around 11 00 in the morning. Police say both parents were home at the time, but at some point the toddlers got out of the home, into their backyard and into the hot tub thation around it. We heard it once, weve heard it hundreds of times. It only takes a few siksdz of in it in attention. Toddlers are very very mobile and they will find a way out into the yard. Reporter and its not known exactly how long the twins were under water. Police tell us that right now they are still at the scene investigating and the parents are being cooperative.
