November’s edition of Broxton Nights featured a holiday theme, local vendors and people roller-skating down Broxton Avenue Nov. 11. Since starting in September, Broxton Nights – an event hosted by the Westwood Village Improvement Association, LA Skate Hunnies and Farm Habit – has become a space for community spirit and engagement through food, music and roller skating.
Bruins gathered on Wilson Plaza on Thursday for music, soft serve ice cream and lawn games during the November edition of First Thursdays. The event series, which is hosted by UCLA, launched in March 2022 with the goal of bringing the community together.
Over 40 vendors set up for the Westwood Village Farmers’ Market on Broxton Avenue on Thursday. The farmers’ market occurs every Thursday and is most popular for its fresh produce from local vendors – such as baked goods, fresh fruits and vegetables – artisanal items, art and live music.
Bruin Flea, a flea market co-hosted by students and local community members, made its Westwood debut on Broxton Avenue on Friday. The monthly market, which began holding events in 2022, featured food trucks, music and booths from various businesses and local vendors.
Bruins and community members gathered on Broxton Avenue on Saturday for the Halloween-themed installment of Broxton Nights. The pop-up market and roller disco, which occurs on the second Saturday of each month, featured a “Tricks and Treats” theme for the Halloween season.
