Another heartbreaking loss for the hip hop community. Shock G, famous for his hit song The Humpty Dance with Digital Underground, and his work with 2Pac, has passed away at the age of 57.
The hip hop legend was found dead in his hotel room in Tampa, Florida according to his father Edward Racker. The cause of death is still unclear yet there were no signs of foul play or trauma. An autopsy will be performed.
Shock was also famous for his collaborations with 2Pac as he s featured on 2Pac s 1993 song I Get Around. Shock G was also one of the producers on Tupac s 1991 debut solo album, 2Pacalyse Now.

Shock G the hip-hop figure best known for leading classic rap group Digital Underground and collaborating with Tupac Shakur has died.
Shock G was found dead on Thursday (April 22) in a hotel room in Tampa, according to his father Edward Racker. As
TMZ reports, the cause of death is unclear, but apparently there were no signs of trauma. Shock G was 57.
Born Gregory Jacobs, Shock G co-founded Digital Underground alongside Chopmaster J and Kenneth Kenny-K Waters in 1987. Their early singles Underwater Rimes and Doowutchyalike emerged as underground hits, but Digital Underground found mainstream success with their 1990 album

Gregory Jacobs, the charismatic, affable Digital Underground rapper-producer who performed as Shock G and Humpty Hump, died Thursday at the age of 57. Jacobs’ father confirmed the musician’s death to TMZ, though a cause of death remains unknown.
“34 years ago almost to the day we had a wild idea we can be a hip-hop band and take on the world through it all the dream became a reality and the reality became a nightmare for some,” Digital Underground’s Chopmaster J wrote on Instagram. “And now he’s awaken from the fame long live shock G Aka Humpty Hump and Rest In Peace my Brotha Greg Jacobs!!! #digitalunderground.”
The producer s father was spokesperson, while the cause of death is under investigation.
