Brooke’s sisters Amanda Johnson and Shauna Davis spoke out about the tragedy on Friday. “She was happy, bubbly, outgoing, hardworking and kind,” Davis said. “She was an angel on earth,” Johnson added. Brooke had several talents and hobbies. She was a mother of three daughters, a nurse, loved landscaping and horticulture and had a love for photography. “She always had a camera around her neck,” Davis explained. “Whether it was a sporting event or family. It was in her car so she could pull over on any road if she saw a pretty sunset or a flower, or a dandelion that looked pretty. The bag weighed as much as she did.”

Jason Arnold, 49, killed  Brooke Koch, 40, and then died by suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. This was the tragic end to a pattern of abuse, judging by the details from a petition for a restraining order. According to an NSP statement obtained by Law&Crime, Gage County deputies got a 911 call Tuesday morning about two people dead at a local residence outside of the city of Blue Springs. Authorities said Arnold was scheduled that morning for court. He had allegedly violated the protection order keeping him away from Koch, but no-showed the hearing. The motive behind the murder-suicide seems rather clear on its face. Arnold violently lashed out after Koch dumped him for being verbally abusive and using meth, according to an August 2020 petition for a restraining order obtained by KLKN-TV. April 7, 2021 8:24 pm LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – On Tuesday, two people were found dead after what the Nebraska State Patrol is calling a murder-suicide. Court documents reveal a pattern of abusive behavior from suspect Jason Arnold towards his former partner of ten years, Brooke Koch. In August of 2020, Koch filed to get a protection order against Arnold. In the petition dated 8/18/2020, Koch wrote, “On 8/8/2020 I told Jason Arnold I no longer wanted to be in a relationship with him due to ongoing verbal abuse and his admittance to using methamphetamine.”
