bill richardson who created a relationship with north korea, somebody i was in touch with at the very beginning of this whole thing, he would tell you, i believe he would tell you that they know exactly what they re doing in regard to american and to say that i talked to this guy and there s lots of things happening in the country but he didn t know he didn t know about it and i will take him at his word. it s beyond outrageous and, brooke, think about if your own son or daughter went on a trip and then they just disappeared and they sent him back and he you don t know where he is the whole time. there s no communication. the state department didn t always know or at least didn t tell people what was going on and at the end he comes home and basically he isn t himself. he s brain dead. the parents have to go through this excruciating situation that remains today because it wasn t that long ago and then you have the president saying, well, i
this is why a judge is going have to decide it in the short term and in the long term, congress is going to have to try if they can get it together to kind of address the questions about what this agency should do. never mind who should be in charge because at the end of the day, brooke, lindsay graham articulated the big reason why the president wanted mick mulvaney in there and not the designated deputy of somebody who is a holdover for the obama administration. they don t like this watchdog agency. they think it is a rogue agency and they think it goes way too far from the original premise which is to protect consumers and obviously, democrats com meetly disagree with that and they say show us the evidence and we haven t seen any yet. we have a current employee of the cfpb and we ll get a look at this coming up in the show. speaking of, dana bash, let s talk about the to-do list and

threat to journalists, particularly american journalists when you have the president of the united states of america coming out and saying that it is essentially okay to d disparage and mock journalists like an institution like cnn international. ben wedeman, are you worried that it sends a, this message to people around the world that it s open season on journalists and b, the language from here you have the leader of the free world trying to silence the press. i m wondering, too, what message that sends to other leaders and other to dictators around the world. . here s the problem, brooke. i work in the middle east where we sometimes are in very hostile environments in countries where the regime is hostile, where oftentimes people are sent out to do us harm or to threaten us,
