In addition to battling the abnormally warm temperatures at Andy Zwack Field on Tuesday, the Prince Albert Under-18 Royals also had to deal with the red-hot bats of the Saskatoon Athletics.
After jumping out a 6-1 lead in the first two innings, the Athletics scored nine runs in the top of the sixth frame on their way to a dominant 16-3 win over the Royals in Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League AA play.

Under-18 squad off to a 6-1-1 start
What a difference a year makes for the Prince Albert Under-18 Royals.
After posting a 3-15 record in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League AA circuit in 2020, the club is off to a 6-1-1 start this season after winning all four of their games this weekend at Andy Zwack Field.
“Everyone’s hitting the ball and playing well, so it’s been a lot of fun so far, especially we’ve been racking up the runs,” Royals first baseman and pitcher Josh LaClaire said on Sunday.
“We were a young team last year and we didn’t have a lot of third year guys. We’ve all been in certain situations now and we’ve come into this season ready to play.”
