The Lafayette Parish School System is expanding food distribution to youth in the community to provide supplemental nutrition while schools are closed for Easter/spring break.
All children 18 years of age and younger in Lafayette Parish are eligible, regardless if they are enrolled in LPSS schools or not.
To register to receive meals, parents should visit www.focusfoods.org/register, select Lafayette Parish, and complete the online registration form by the
deadline of Friday, April 2, 2021, at 11:59 p.m.
Meals will be distributed via drive-thru service only on Saturday, April 3, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Lafayette Parish at the following school sites:
Unfortunately for many kids in Lafayette, the only real meals that they receive are the ones that they get at school. With the upcoming Easter holidays, Lafayette Parish School System officials are trying to prevent hunger among students.
Any child in Lafayette, 18-year-old and younger, are eligible to receive the free food, but you do need to register for Saturday s distribution event. Parents just need to go to the website www.focusfoods.org/register in order to register for the food program according to Lafayette Parish School System Public Information Officer Allison Dickerson in a press release. They remind you to select Lafayette Parish, and you need to pick which site you re going to visit to pick up the food.

This program is available to all children in Lafayette Parish age 18 and younger regardless if they are enrolled in LPSS schools. Meals will be distributed via drive-through service-only Saturday, April 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lafayette Parish at the following school sites:
Broadmoor Elementary School, 609 Broadmoor Boulevard
Live Oak Elementary School, 3020 N. University Avenue
Northside High School, 301 Dunand Street
Meal boxes will consist of five days of breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack foods for a total of 20 meals. The boxes will contain fresh, frozen and shelf-stable foods.
