Reporter police say around noon a 29yearold man was shot five times including in the neck, chest and stomach. He was rushed to Einstein Medical Center in Critical Condition and police described him as uncooperative. Detectives say the shooter ran around the corner to a home on the 1400 block of conlyn street and thats when Police Declared a barricade situation bringing in a swat team. Some neighbors were escorted out of their homes. I dont know what happened. I was in my house i heard the cops running back and forth. I came to the door and then at that point they told me high to evacuate. Reporter some folks waited the the Police Station nearby while others joined a small crowd that gathered at the end of the street watching police work. 30 minutes later three men were taken out of the house in handcuffs. Cherrys friend 18yearold Elijah Frazier was shot and killed. A 17yearold boy suffered a graze wound to the head. Police say theres been an escalation in violence and drug activity in the area. They believe both victims were targeted because they were the associated with one of the rival gangs.
