Police say a 29yearold man was shot five times including in the neck, chest and stomach. He was rushed to Einstein Medical Center in Critical Condition and was not cooperating with police. Detectives say the suspect fled around the corner to a home on the 1400 block of conley street. Neighbors were asked to leave as a swat team moved in. At that point they told me i had to evacuate. As you can see i got my pajamas on. She said come as you are and took me out for security reasons. Reporter three men were loadd into a van and taken to the 36th district. Police say one was identified as the gunman. The names of the suspects have not been released. No word on any charges get. A day care worker told me they actually train for situations like this and while a few of the kids were shaken up they are thankful that everyone is okay tonight. Six deadly shootings at six different locations all across the city and today police are still on the hunt for some of those suspects. Just a few hours ago we heard the latest on a shooting that happened in broad daylight yesterday afternoon on the 1400 block of vernon road. Police say 21yearold alex cherry was shot in the head and killed execution style while talking to an aide for chris rabe a pennsylvania for the statehouse and it happened just outside of a store. Four hours later a second shooting just around the corner on temple road. Police say someone in a red suv fired shots into a crowd striking and killing 18yearold elijah frazier. Today Officials Say they do believe that both of these incidents are gang related and that these two shootings are connected. Ly. Right now the only correlation that we know for sure is that both of the decedents are friends, they both live in the area. So thats where we believe the connection is. What we know is theres been an i donty ongoing dispute between two groups of young men, one that lives in that area, one in lives in the logan area. So, were trying to get ahold on the players and start to make that arrests. There is video from the vernon road incident and police are combing through it for any clues. Now family members have said that wagner was bullied prompting Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to call for more conversations about mental health, a possible motive though is still under investigation. Were still working to learn the name of a 16yearold girl in the hospital after she was shot in the head in trenton. Police say it happened about 6 30 last night at injuries see street and holme avenue. They say the girl was riding as a passenger in a minivan when someone started shooting at that vehicle. The girl is in Critical Condition right now. Police have not arrested anyone and they have not told us why they think this shooting happened. This was back on march 26th. They say the suspect used credit cards he had stolen from a car on the 2300 block of oregon avenue. A teenager has now died from her injuries after being hit by a vehicle on a south jersey street. The victims family tells us 15yearold gavin conley died today surrounded by relatives and friends. Conley was injured in a crash about 8 30 saturday night on route 42 near greentree road in washington township. Police say the teen was hit by a toyota yaris driven by a 21yearold man. The driver originally drove off but did return 10 minutes later. So far no charges have been filed. People living in parts of Bear Delaware were without power for some of the day. Garbage truck crashed into power lines in the 2700 block of denny road. It then caught fire. Firefighters say the arms that raise the trash into the truck bed brought down those wires. They were two deadly shootings just hours apart in the same philadelphia neighborhood. One happened just moments after the victim finished speaking with a political candidate. Monday night, monica is off, Sharrie Williams is joining us and the big story on action news tonight is the candidate speaking out about the violence he witnessed. The first shooting happened around 3 30 yesterday afternoon on the 1400 block of vernon road. The second shooting just four hours later and less than a quarter of a mile away. Reporter rick and sharrie, Police Believe this all stems from an escalating rivalry between two gangs in the cedarbrook section of the city. Yesterday a political candidate and his staff found themselves right in the middle of the violence. One minute they were talking to a young man about the election, seconds later that young man was dead. Chris raab a candidate for state representative stood in front of his Campaign Headquarters to talk about the murder he and his staff witnessed yesterday afternoon. They were out campaign willing they stopped to chat about tomorrows primary with a group in the 1400 block of vernon road. 21yearold alex can cherry was among the young men gathered there. And we were impressed with this young man and i asked my colleagues to get his information and moments after we got his information, he was shot in the head. An unidentified black male came around the corner, fired one time striking him in the back of the head and then stood over top of him and shot himself more times. Somebody tell me who killed my son.
