[laughs] and you need not take my word for it, he is consistently ranked best newscaster, as the top rated cable news program in his time slot. and that s been the case for many years. but bret has a second career going as a bestselling author. and we are talking about a not a fo
that they ve done the republican party a great service, because i think a great many republican said they cannot win with trump at the head of the ticket again. they are afraid of his supporters and don t want to come out against him directly. but they would like it to go away. the effect of this committee is to make the possible [ candidacy go away, i think a great many republicans would privately be very glad. so, david, what do you the reaction would be, both from elected republicans in washington and with republican voters in the committee did prevent trump from running again in 2024? yeah, look, i think britt hume is right. but i want to associate myself with tim s remarks and your affirmation, that i don t think the january six committee or the democrats rich large have considered the political implications of what they re doing. they are on the right side of history. this is being recorded as a critical moment in american history and they should look at it through that lens.
primetime hearings, there are regular rank and file republicans, who are maybe fox news viewers, or maybe not even years at all, who are getting some of this information new. and i think just moving, one, two, 3% of them, moving people on the margins does matter. and frankly, even if they move nobody, it s my view that this committee has historic importance. and that they need to do what they are doing without worrying about 3d chess or whether someone in the waukesha suburbs will change their votes in november. right, tim, i agree with you, 100% on that last point. ultimately, this is about history. david, i want you to listen to this from fox news analyst britt hume. what strikes me about this brittani hume is, if they succeed, either by damaging or staining him, such that he is either unable or, for legal or political reasons, to run again, they might end up finding out
