Former Stamford Boy’s School pupil awarded John Mitchell medal by British Geotechnical Association Published: 08:00, 08 February 2021 A former Stamford Boy’s School pupil has been awarded the John Mitchell medal by the British Geotechnical Association (BGA). David Beadman received the medal, presented annually by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), based on a nomination from the BGA for significant contributions in the field of geotechnical engineering. David attended Stamford School between 1966 and 1975 and went on to study engineering at St John’s College, Cambridge. After graduating in 1979 he joined W S Akins, working on site for a couple of years on Drax Power Station completion project in Yorkshire.
