Town have announced that the Britannia Building Society will continue their sponsorship of the Britannia Stand until 2012. Britannia have sponsored the stand since 1999.
Town are holding an open day at Portman Road on Thursday when fans will get the chance to watch the first team squad train. The Blues promised to hold a number of open training sessions after former manager Roy Keane’s policy of welcoming fans to Playford Road on a daily basis was scrapped earlier in the year.
In a move bound to annoy traditionalists Ipswich Town are doing away with Churchman s. In a press conference held to give greater detail of the development to the stand the club announced that until a suitable sponsor is found for it the stand will be referred to as the South Stand, a name more synonymous with away trips to Carrow Road than ITFC.
The FA and Town have finally confirmed that Croatia will face England in a friendly in Portman Road s first ever full international on Wednesday, August 20th (KO 8pm).
Town have warned supporters that just 5,000 tickets will be available for Friday s U14/15 game with Manchester United at Portman Road (KO 7.30pm). Only the Britannia Stand will be open for the visit of the Premiership leaders academy side.
