The move towards transparency of budget figures is arguably one of the most significant achievements of this year’s budget. By acknowledging that fiscal deficit in revised estimates (RE) 2020-21 will be 9.5% of GDP rather than 3.5% in the budget estimates (BE), the Centre has brought much needed credibility to the figures of fiscal deficit. If the deficit can be contained to 6.8% in 2021-22, the Centre can claim even more credit for the robustness of the budget’s estimates and projections.

In a step towards sustainable agriculture and doubling of farmers income, the Odisha government on Thursday sanctioned 12 new projects worth Rs 7,295.25 lakh under Remunerative Approach for Agriculture and Allied sector Rejuvenation. As per an official release, the projects have been sanctioned in the state-level sanctioning committee meeting held via video conferencing under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy. A total number of 12 projects worth Rs 7295.25 lakhs were presented by the project proponents. Considering their importance and feasibility, Chief Secretary Tripathy accorded approval to the projects. These projects would be financed both by the Central and state governments on a 60:40 sharing basis, the government said.

(File Pic) 72 Bhubaneswar: In another step towards sustainable agriculture and doubling of farmers’ income, Odisha Government has sanctioned 12 new projects of worth Rs.7,295.25 lakh under Rastriya Krushi Vikash Yojana (RKVY). The projects have been sanctioned in the State Level Sanctioning Committee meeting held on digital mode under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy wherein Principal Secretary Agriculture and Farmers empowerment Sri Saurabh Garg outlined the issues for discussion. Giving sanction to the projects, Chief Secretary Sri Tripathy directed to specify deliverables with time lines against each project and monitor those closely. He further directed to do due diligence at different levels of the project implementation and bring out necessary modifications as per ground level feed back in the light of the changing need of the
