CHS takes on the footy world | Plains Producer

Recently Clare High School (CHS) specialist football program students were involved in the foundation three-day ‘Life as an Elite Athlete’ camp in and around Adelaide. This camp is directly aligned to the CHS specialist football academy, which started this year under the guidance of Nick Prokopec and Kristy Lewis. Nick explained that prior to the camp, the class of five females and 17 males had been involved in a strength and conditioning program under guidance from Will Pratt, the strength and conditioning mentor. “These sessions have been a mixture of high intensity training, specific physical literacy movements, elite comparison and data tracking,” Nick said.

A snapshot of the key 2021 mid-season draft prospects

Sandringham Dragons talent Jacob Edwards is rated as the most likely candidate to go at no.1 in next month’s draft, but is also tipped to go in the first round of the National Draft if he opts for that path. Twomey, who expects around 15 picks total to be made on June 2, says Edwards is yet to make a call on whether he will nominate for mid-season or wait for another opportunity later this year.

Retirements and disciplinary delistings have also opened space for clubs, with the reduced list sizes leaving several clubs with lengthening injury issues if patterns continue to deteriorate.

That means it’s time for preview articles! Rather than going team-by-team in 2021, we’ll group the teams together based on where they finished last season. Today, I’ll take a look at last year’s bottom four, before moving onto the rest of the non-finalists (Tuesday), the non-top four finalists (next Thursday) and, finally, the reigning top four (the following Tuesday).
