Tristan Grace Bissey passed peacefully in her mother's arms on Saturday, March 4, 2023. Tristan was born at 3:35 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2022, in Flora, Illinois, at Clay County Hospital to Jason W. and Ashley N. (Land) Bissey. She weighed 2 pounds and 15.5 ounces and was 17 and 3/4 inches long. Tristan spent 97 days receiving care from nurses and specialists in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. John's Children's Hospital in Springfield. Her surprise entrance was met with much joy, but also some complications resulting from premature birth. Tristan is survived by her parents, Jason and Ashley Bissey of Xenia; three siblings, Alex, Mylee and Myka Bissey; her maternal grandparents, Billy and Candy (Tolliver) Harrell and Kent Land; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Edna Mae Fatheree, age 91, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday evening, January 1, 2022, at Clay County Hospital. She was born June 20, 1930, in Xenia, the daughter of Samuel Levi and Nettie Flossie (Cameron) Henson. She married Dallas G. Fatheree on August 28, 1973, in Flora. He preceded her in death January 5, 2014. Edna was an avid gardener, a caring pet owner of dogs and cats over the years, and appreciated countless opportunities to go fishing throughout her lifetime while developing impressive skill at handling a rod and reel. She and Dallas also shared a love of dancing together. Edna enjoyed attending family activities and warmly welcomed visits from her grandkids over the years, making good memories that they will forever remember. She is survived by 3 sons: Vern (Gail) Johnson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dan (Wendy) Johnson of Flora, and James E. (Linda) Ross of Effingham; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death her paren
Jay D. Richey, age 77, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 26, 2021, at Flora Gardens Care Center. He was born September 7, 1943, in Olney, the son of Jacob Donald and Mildred Mae (Mattoon) Richey. He married his high school sweetheart, Pamela Jo Bemount, on June 1, 1963, just after she finished school. Jay had graduated from Flora Township High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After the wedding, he and Pam drove over 3,700 miles to Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska, and began what would be part of a 29-year around-the-world life journey while he was on assignment. He trained and specialized in Aircraft Maintenance, Systems Management, and Aerospace Propulsion. Jay served in Vietnam during his extensive service career, and eventually retired as Chief Master Sergeant in 1990. He later drove a school bus, and served on the Flora Volunteer Fire Department and the Clay County Board. He was member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disable
