NORWALK After learning a $1.5 million revamp of Silvermine Elementary School’s driveway may no longer be in the cards, parents and local leaders took to a public hearing expressing safety concerns about the cramped pickup and drop-off lane.

NEW LONDON A member of the city’s Board of Education was the target of a “vile and threatening” message last week that police say they are investigating as a hate crime.
Police said the incident is believed to have happened sometime between 8 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 13.
In a public post on her Facebook page on Jan. 13, Regina Mosley, president of the New London Board of Education, said she came home to a BOE packet on her porch. She said a note had been scrawled on it as well.
