Police are warning people not to gather in groups POLICE in Brierley Hill are warning people fines will be issued to those flouting Covid-19 regulations after noticing a lot more people gathering in groups. The message was put out on twitter yesterday (Friday February 26) as people were spotted meeting up in the warmer weather. Officers in the Brierley Hill Policing unit are warning people that although the weather is starting to improve, lockdown rules do still apply. They tweeted: Direction to leave and fines will continue to be issued. Please follow the rules until we are all told different. Many thanks.

ONE of the stars of new reality TV series Forensics: The Real CSI started her policing career working in the front office at Brierley Hill Police Station. Forensic crime scene coordinator Jo Ward features in the new BBC 2 documentary series which began airing last night (Tuesday). Jo, a member of the West Midlands Police forensic services team, has been with the force for 23 years. She started out in 1997 working as enquiry officer at Brierley Hill Police Staton - having formerly worked for an insurance company. During her two years at Brierley Hill, and after watching scenes of crime officers dealing with detained property, she developed a real interest in this area of work and began taking steps to see if it was something she could do.
POLICE found more than 200 cannabis plants at a property in Brierley Hill yesterday (Tuesday). Officers from Brierley Hill Police Station raided a home in Cressett Lane, Brockmoor, at around 11am yesterday morning and discovered 206 illegal plants. Brierley Hill Police reported the find on Twitter and said: Team 1 have conducted a successful warrant at a residential property in Brockmoor, with 206 cannabis plants located across several rooms. This was thanks to crucial community intelligence - keep on reporting & we will act! No arrests were made.
