WEYMOUTH- A new natural resources unit within the police department will soon patrol the town’s waterways and wooded areas to ensure public safety and compliance with laws.
The patrol unit was created by merging the police animal control unit and the harbormaster/marine unit.
“Weymouth will benefit greatly from forming our Natural Resources Unit,” stated Police Chief Richard Fuller in a written summary. “The Town of Weymouth has a number of natural resource areas including Wessagusett Beach, Whitman s Pond, Great Pond, Great Esker Park, Osprey Overlook Park, and numerous other parks, bodies of water and wooded areas;..”
