Cops rushed to Broomielaw around 7.30am this morning after the tragic discovery was made near to the Squinty Bridge. A major rescue operation launched on May 11 after a man plunged into the water Police said the family of missing Partick man Brain Hamill, 39, have been informed. CCTV images later showed him in Glasgow city centre heading towards St Enoch Square in the direction of the river around 10.15am.

Body Recovered from Glasgow s River Clyde close to squinty bridge

Police Scotland has confirmed that the body was found shortly after 7.30am this morning. The body is yet to be formally identified but the family of missing man Brian Hamill, who has been reported missing from the Partick area since Monday May 10, have been informed. Officers were called at around 7.30am and the body was recovered from the water a short time later. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
