Willmar Public Works Committee tables approval of event center and recreation fields plans in order to seek more information
At its meeting Thursday, the Willmar City Council s Public Works Committee tabled the approval of the plans for the event center and recreation fields projects being funded by the Invest in Willmar local option sales tax. Council members were looking for additional information on operational costs for the event center. Willmar and Kandiyohi County to work on ADA compliance
Both the city of Willmar and Kandiyohi County have approved Americans with Disabilities Act self-evaluation and transition plans, which focus on pedestrian facilities in public right of ways, such as sidewalks, street crossings and paths. As street and trail improvement projects are completed by Willmar and Kandiyohi County, any ADA compliance issues will be addressed at the same time. Each year the number of non-compliant areas will be dropped from the list as they are brought into compliance.
