WSOP Main Event Runner-Up Joseph Hebert Among WPT Seminole Day 1B Chip Leaders

Joseph Hebert, the runner-up for the 2020 WSOP Main Event, is off to a strong start at the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. The second and final Day 1 session was even larger than the first as nearly 2,500 made their way to South Florida for the biggest event since pre-pandemic.

On Day 1A in the $3,500 buy-in event, 1,047 players registered, creating a $3,350,400 prize pool, far exceeding the tournament’s $2 million guarantee. And that was before accounting for Day 1B, which ended up with 1,436 entries, adding another $4,588,800, bringing the overall pot to $7,939,200, nearly four times the guarantee.
James “Jim” Werskey SEYMOUR Mr. James “Jim” Werskey, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 at his home. He was born in Pasadena, Texas to the late Richard “Dick” and Betty Jean (Mattick) Werskey. James is survived by his wife, Christine Werskey; children, Alan (Heidi) Werskey, Eric Werskey; sister, Patricia (Mark) Goble; niece, Jennifer Goble (Steve) Fox; great-nieces, Avery and Emily and great-nephew, Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert “Bob” Werskey; and nephew, Brian Goble. Private family funeral services for Jim will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service with Rev. Marc Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
