Leader-Post letters: Keep statues, add information on John A history

Article content Hiding John A. away doesn’t solve issue The removal of the statues of Sir John A. Macdonald from public spaces presents a lost opportunity. Gone is the possibility of setting out his mistakes as well as his accomplishments. These mistakes, like the statues, have been hidden away from public view. Your letters for Jan 23, 2021

Your letters for Jan. 23, 2021 Council being foolish, but premier should butt out Let it be known that while I disagree with Regina banning advertising and sponsorship from fossil fuel producers , which would effectively transfer lost revenue from those to already excessive property and school taxes, I also don’t think our premier should stick his nose into that decision (Leader-Post, Jan. 21). Would I welcome Shell Leisure Centre or Suncor Food Bank to Regina? Yes, and so would most Reginans. If such companies are willing to contribute to our citizens, why not accept the benefits? If councillors want to drive electric cars, all the more power to them (no pun intended), but they should make sure these vehicles are recharged only by solar or wind power.
