Mets Turn Tide, Pick Up deGrom
It s not often that Superman needs help but it happens. In seasons past, Jake deGrom would take the mound, give up one run and lose the game 1-0. This year is different. No, Jake is still Superman but this year, his faithful teammates aren t letting him down.
Today the Mets lone All Star, who has decided he will not attend the festivities in Colorado, left after pitching a complete 7 inning game (1st game of a day/night doubleheader) trailing 2-1 with the Mets coming to their final at bat. As mentioned, in years past, deGrom s teammates go down feebly and Jake loses another heartbreaker. Not this year. Not this Mets team.
