welcome to hln news and views. we have teams from the federal emergency management agency we re watching in mississippi to survey the damage from the weekend tornado. the storm killed at least ten people in mississippi and two in alabama and turned hundreds of homes and buildings into rubble. dozens of people were hurt. the coroner of choctaw county almost became a victim himself when the twister flipped his truck four times. another man was heading to his dad s restaurant to take cover in the freezer. his car was tossed up and lifted into the restaurant. it was unbelievable. it just when the windows exploded it was like anything i ve never experienced. i mean it was just amazing. scared us to death. i m very fortunate. i ve got four beautiful children. i couldn t imagine being without them. as tragic as everything is, we ve lost ten folks and family in this incident today. all family members and our heart goes out to them because we re lucky to be here. and don t realize
significant damage. we ve had reports the eastern part of the city has been wiped out. here is what we re looking at on the radar. still a bad situation. the red cells north of columbus by this area, that the same cell that made the tornado in yazoo that caused so much damage and injuries reported with that. this is a serious situation and it s not just in mississippi. we do have this concern right now in the area, where we have a tornado warning in effect. and also for parts of alabama, there is the line where there is warning, as well. we have several warnings population up in the mississippi and alabama area but also move to the north. as we head through the afternoon we re going to see our concern for severe weather to start to shift northward. we have a lot of watch boxes we ll dealing with until 9:00 or 10:00. you see all the activity on the radar with strong thunderstorms and tornados but also very heavy rain and flooding is going to be a major concern as we head throu
