Madam president , commissioners, my name is mark, im and attorney and represent approximately 30 Entertainment Venues in San Francisco. I have been through probably in the last 25 years 20 sound wars and i call them sound wars because they get pretty contentious and crazy. I have been here many years. I have had probably 15 or 20 sound test. These people go out of their way to help venues and ignore the law in order to let this venue survive and do their soundproofing. Its unfortunate that brick and mortars has chosen to cast these issues. I told them they are nice people and just sweet. My child cant sleep, but i dont want any of your employees to lose their jobs. These are great people and they have been wronged, i think. I would really ask this board to uphold the Entertainment Commissions ruling on this because i think it was fair, i was there and i think the brick and mortar can work with the neighbors, they can soundproof this thing and we need more Entertainment Venues and espec

It was an unprecedented event for the region. And in the midst of this disaster, we were really inspired by something we saw within our own community on air b b. Users of the air b b platform were updating their profiles to say if youre a new yorker and you need a place to stay tonight, ill take you into my home, no money. And we started seeing this, and we were really inspired. And we asked ourselves, what can we do to promote this further . And so over the next couple days we sent emails to our community, encouraging others to open up their homes. And we fundamentally changed how our system worked. We did away with the concept of payments so people could open their homes for free. We did away with our service fees and we created a landing page to organize information and get the word out about wha

And black history is our history and black history is american history. applause as someone who has benefited from that history, i just want to acknowledge how important it has been to all of our live. And on a board where most of us are members of communities of color and or the lgbt community, we have all benefited from the struggle of the Civil Rights Movement and of many African Americans over the last century and a half in this country. And it was with a [speaker not understood] movement. The actions we forget between ghandi and Martin Luther king and the Nonviolent Movement that was happening throughout the world, from communism which was spreading in the third world to connecting to what was happening, to the Civil Rights Movement, it was also interconnected
