Id like to just chime in for a couple minutes about david and what ive learned from him. Just an honor and a pleasure to work with this man over the last two years we worked together very closely in the api forum. And all that was volunteer work and david had that cando attitude. Anything i asked of him, it was always, no problem, i can get that done. He put together seminars for the elderly to keep them safe on the street. He helped me with a toy drive for young kids during christmas. He had the energy to put together like the chief said, those blue bags that came all the way from hong kong. He brokered the whole thing. So, david, im going to miss working with you. Its been an honor and a pleasure and i know that we all as a city have been have enjoyed his service and will continue to enjoy his presence just being a part

I simply want to say for my own personal experience, ive had the opportunity to work with many, many city staffers and i just think that you are an incredible individual and you are really top notch in term of how you have performed your duties. For me specifically in my office, working with the Youth Commission has been just such a full filling experience. And many of the policies that we have worked on, our policies where we worked so closely with you as a commission, some of those are issues that were brought to us by you and the commission. And there are so many examples where you have empowered youth to believe in themselves and to really make a difference in the world, whether its the undocumented youth policy where the Youth Commission was instrumental, to the free muni for Youth Program which just started a few days ago, to the historic first meeting between th

And black history is our history and black history is american history. applause as someone who has benefited from that history, i just want to acknowledge how important it has been to all of our live. And on a board where most of us are members of communities of color and or the lgbt community, we have all benefited from the struggle of the Civil Rights Movement and of many African Americans over the last century and a half in this country.
