The Sioux Falls Police Department is looking for a white SUV involved in a hit-and-run that left a bicyclist in the hospital.
The hit-and-run occurred Saturday around 8 a.m. near 22nd Street and Minnesota Avenue, according to police spokesman Sam Clemens.
Witnesses described a white newer model Jeep, possibly a Compass or Cherokee, on 22nd Street waiting to make a left turn and go northbound on Minnesota Avenue. When the light turned green and the walk sign lit up a bicyclist entered the intersection trying to cross Minnesota Avenue. The white Jeep hit the 60-year-old and her bike. The vehicle paused and slowed down for a moment but then drove away as the bicyclist laid in the street unconscious, Clemens said.
