Alida news - thanks for supporting the recreation board

It was fun watching the bidding. Lot 1 – Alida shopping spree was offered as a draw with participants purchasing squares for $10. This draw was made Sunday with Brittany Dubuc being the winner. After all the items were paid for and picked up on April 13, the Alida Recreation Board had raised over $12,000, including cash donations. Being the very first time trying this kind of fundraiser there were glitches along the way but that will help make another one even better.   Huge appreciation to our donors, bidders, and winners for making this event a success. Sincere sympathy is extended to the family of Margaret (Boody) Lemieux, who passed away on April 16, in her 97th year. She is was predeceased by her husband Joe Lemieux, parents Ed and Vi Hartley, brothers Bill and Bob, as well as Joe’s siblings and their spouses. Lemieux is survived by her children Daryl (Shirley), Bob (Jane), Melodye (Ross) Dubuc, Betty (Dennis) Burnett, Terry (Terry), Donna (Paul) Faber, Doug (Darlene),

Alida Weekly News

Birthday greetings are extended once again for this coming week to Christian Lemieux on Feb. 7, Don Akins on Feb. 8, Aidyn Junk on Feb. 10, April Junk on Feb. 13 and Randy McCannell on Feb. 19. “Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday everyone and hope you have/had a great day!” There are a couple of anniversaries also happening this coming week. Happy anniversary folks. Feb. 2 was Groundhog Day – this year it was reported that the groundhog remained hidden, but later it was reported that he did not see his shadow due to much fog in the area. Since winter has been fairly nice this year I guess we can add a few more weeks and it really won’t be that bad. Guess you can just draw your own conclusions if not satisfied with this one.
