First up tonight that breaking news here in the district, a child struck and killed in a crash. It started out as a hitandrun. Megan fitzgerald on the scene. Reporter it has been about 2 1 2 hours since this accident happened. A very active scene. Police have taped off the area where the crash happened. They tell us around 8 30 when the driver collided with the 6yearold boy who was rushed to the hospital. Investigators are telling us that that child has died. We are told that the driver then drove to a different location where he called 911. At this point we are told that the driver is cooperating with the investigation and is being there is a lot we still dont know at this point which is why investigators are out here.
