Theres been no further discussion of the reason for the delay. Testimony is ongoing. The other intriguing thing that happened today was about sealed testimony about some rick gates testimony that could have to do with an investigation that is still ongoing. When we consider what investigations are still ongoing that rick gates might have to do with, were looking at the larger special counsel investigation into the russia probe. What do you make of that testimony being put under seal by the judge . Well, that came after an objection when the defense asked rick gates if he was asked questions by the fbi about his role in the Trump Campaign. And so at that point there was this sidebar where no doubt they discussed the scope of rick gates cooperation. Theyre putting this false deadline out there that he has to finish by September 1st because, you know, thats department of Justice Policy, to not come close to an election. Thats a great Ov Oversimplification of what the department of Justice Policy is. There is no absolute September 1st deadline, particularly when youre talking about the president , who is not even on the ballot in november. So its not even a clearcut connection to the elections. And even if it were, mueller does not have to stop investigating September 1st. He just might need to stay away from charging certain people or doing overt acts that might impact an election.
