The Carson City School District is pleased to announce new leadership roles for the School Board of Trustees. At their first meeting of the year Tuesday, Jan. 11, Richard Varner, District 4, was named the newest president of the Carson City School District Board of Trustees.
Forty-two employees who have worked a collective 853 years with the Carson City School District will retire this year. The retirees were recognized at the school board meeting Tuesday, May 24.
Carson City students are recognizing and honoring military men and women this week with Veteran’s Day displays and events. Veterans from all branches of military service, as well as families of students, have been encouraged to attend or participate in events Wednesday and Thursday.

Schools in Carson City, Lyon and Douglas counties will participate in Wednesday s statewide Nevada Moves Day, with walking and bicycling events planned for the day.
