All the 274 personnel who were on board barge P305 that sank and tugboat Varaprada that went adrift during Cyclone Tauktae fury have been accounted for.

MUMBAI: Navy ship INS Makar on Monday located tugboat Varaprada seven days after it went adrift in the Arabian Sea during Cyclone Tauktae fury, an official said. Divers are trying to locate trapped Brave Nature s Victims (bodies) if any, a Navy spokesperson said.

New Delhi [India], May 21 (ANI): In wake of the devastation left behind by cyclone Tauktae, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) management on Friday announced an immediate relief of Rs 1 lakh each to the survivors and Rs 2 lakh each for Brave Nature s Victims (BNVs) and missing persons families. At this hour, we are looking at rescue and rehabilitation task. Our business partner Afcons who was operating the affected barges has been with us in this task. We are saddened by the events and express our deep sorrow at the loss of life and pay our tributes to the BNVs. The combined rescue and search efforts will be continued for few more days and we hope that it will help us save more lives, ONGC said in a statement.
Cyclone Tauktae: 22 Dead, 65 Missing From Barge P305 Off Bombay High Area; 186 Rescued
The Navy said its personnel, battling extreme weather, have so far rescued 186 of the 273 people who were onboard barge P305 and also two from tugboat Varaprada.
