Police released the video after several days of protests. The department giving their version of events leading up to the deadly encoutner. They say they went to the apartment tuesdayto serve an arrest warrant for another man. While at the apartment they say they saw scott rolling a marijuana joint in his car. They ignored that activity. Police say officer Brantley Vinson l the tapes show what happened next. In this dashcam video the frantic final moments of the fatal standoff as recorded by police. All we know, they were in the apartment complex parking lot. This subject gets out with a weapon. They engage him, and one of the officers felt a lethal threat and fired his weapon because of that. So the warrants werent for the man, but were not sure that this man was connected . Absolutely. They were not specific to the deceased. We dont know if theres a connection with the deceased with the suspect. That explanation, though, not sitting well with protesters. But as far as my child, my nephew, i am concerned, i am worried about them. Something has to be done. Whether its our city leaders. Whether its our state leaders. These president ial candidates that are coming on to the scene, something has to be done. There was a terrorist, new jersey, new york, he was taken alive. They say they wanted to question him. Everybody has different viewpoints. Our goal is to get town to the get down to the truth and make sure the facts come out and expand on the conversation. Dont release some information. Dont play hide the ball. If youre going to release what happened, release everything. So theres a lot of different factors to this. [inaudible question] mr. Scott in speaking with his loved ones, i want you to understand that this man was loved by his family and he loved his family. He has been married for 20 years. He has seven children. They have a very big family. And they are a close knit family, okay . Its hard because when these things happen we end up in a situation where were talking about another person that just got shot. But we have to remember that they are human and at the appropriate time you will find out a lot more about who mr. Scott was, what he meant to his family, what he meant to his community, and that is best to come from those that were closest to him. [inaudible question] we cant
