we believe that there may have been other bullet strikes on the building as well. reporter: the bullets shattered the windows but didn t penetrate the building. they hit an area of the defense department that is being renovated and is unoccupied. police believe the shooter may have been taking aim from a rooftop or nearby highway. reporter: police are looking at surveillance videos from the pentagon and other areas. they are hoping one of the cameras may have caught the shooter in action. we don t have cameras specifically on that area, but we re viewing all of our tapes just to make sure. reporter: right now, police are calling this a random shooting. but they re also checking to see if it s connected to another shooting at the national museum of the marine corps. bullet holes under found in the windows monday. investigators believe the shooter used a high-powered rifle and struck early in the morning. reporter: in washington, joel brown, wjz eyewitness news. the
