A Montgomery County Police Cruiser is one of the cars involved in a crash. It happened just after 9 00 on Gateway Center drive on string road. You can see the cruiser had damage to the front end. It appears a landscaping truck and trailer may have also been involved. No word on any injuries. Right now at the live desk. What metro is doing to prevent another derailment. As we get new details from inside the transit agencies first Public Meeting about it from transportation reporter, adam tuss, who is live tweeting. Metro says it appears the employee who deleted critical track Safety Information may have done so before he even read it. We have also learned the Transit Agency has hired a contractor to doublecheck its conclusions after the derailment near the smithsonian station last month. Metro says it is determined to find out whats causing accelerated wear and tear in curbed sections of track. We are staying on top of this developing story throughout the day.
