Judge sentences 21 for criminal offenses

AUBURN — Judge Adam Squiller sentenced 21 people for criminal offenses during hearings in DeKalb Superior Court I this week. Miguel Cuevas of the 2400 block of Lafayette Street, Fort Wayne, was sentenced to eight days in jail for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor. He received credit for four days served while the case was pending. He was fined $100, and his driving license was suspended for 20 days. Kodi Schambers of the 4600 block of Willard West Road, Willard, Ohio, was sentenced to 90 days in jail, all suspended except four days, for resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor; battery, a Class B misdemeanor; and public intoxication, a Class B misdemeanor. He received credit for two days served in jail while the case was pending and was placed on probation for 180 days.

AUBURN — Local police officers arrested 17 people from Feb. 9-14, according to DeKalb County Jail records. Brandi Pennington, 38, of the 7300 block of West C.R. 100N, Kimmell, was arrested Feb. 9 at 3:07 p.m. by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office on charges of theft, a Level 6 felony, and possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor. Ashly Getts, 34, listed in jail records as a homeless resident of Hamilton, was arrested Feb. 9 at 11:29 p.m. by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office on a DeKalb County warrant alleging a violation of the compulsory school attendance law, a Class B misdemeanor. David Wickey, 19, of the 5700 block of C.R. 64, Spencerville, was arrested Feb. 10 at 1:15 a.m. by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant alleging failure to appear in court on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more, a Class A misdemeano
