Amanda hari spoke to the Council Member about the next steps that he wants to take. Amanda . Antioch city Councilmember Mike barber annika says hes been working and monitoring number of staffing level within the Police Department for the past 4 to 5 months. And now the number of officers has gotten so low. He feels the council needs to intervene. A sideshow in any marina parking lot just about a block from the Police Department left one car in the river. Another damaged a water main and a 3rd crashed into a fire hydrant. City Council Member mike says theres a void in the Police Department. Resulting in incidents like this one im told right now we have approximately e 31 officers including supervisors to cover 7 beat on a 24 7. 365 day year operation. The group met at the California Public Utilities Commission headquarters today. The commission is set to discuss the interference of the Autonomous Vehicles with First Responders today. And on thursday, they will vote on whether to grant expansion of services for autonomous cars. The taxi workers say they want the commission to know theyre opposed to waymo and cruise offering 24 7 service in the city. Meanwhile, down in the south bay city workers in san jose have voted to strike for 3 days. The announcement was made earlier this morning. Kron fours will tran has more on what happens next.
